Personal performance for this session

I feel that my performance within this session was performative I managed to work out an idea for my short film project and don't look back as of the 12th of September I've thought about the plot for my short film that will be based on a hitman hunting for his target then it comes to a location I'm still deciding on where I would like to film realistically I would like to use one significant location as the film needs to simple. A location that I'm thinking of using is an underground car park and using lighting to light the scene I fill that with this project I will hopefully be able to learn and refine my skills especially using a variety of camera shots and angles to enhance my project.

 

Technical skills - br due to the nature of the lesson not much could have been done in terms of technical skills.

 

Research skills: 

with this project so far I'm going to try and attempt to find different sources of media that are

similar to the theme I'm going for I'm also going to look again into film noir and how to conduct shadows even if using a black and white filter along with this I'm going to look further into a location as a Carpark may also not be suitable due to area restrictions.

Personal performance for this lesson:

With today's less on I feel that my performance could have been better in terms of organisation, especially with such a tight deadline but other than that I've been able to further develop my story and plan out exactly what I would like to shoot. I also feel that more definitely could have been done work wise too in terms of paperwork. Another thing that furthered my progress today was filling out my location recce after reviewing and surveying my location today I thought of possible shots that I could use for my film although I'm indecisive due to site management and timing that's why I have a similar car pack in mind if those two locations both don't work out then I may try to find a location with a similar vibe and setting I'm looking for. I feel that starting my storyboard gave me a better understanding and more structure to my project, especially when looking into camera angles and different shots I can use to enhance my project
 

Technical skills

Within this lesson my Technical skills would have been composed of drawing my storyboard.

Started the edit and composing clips together for my short film don't look now
 

Personal performance for this lesson: due to this lesson being relatively short I feel that not much was able to be done but I did manage to start slotting in my clips to my timeline this helped me realize what I was missing but also where I could start planning rough and quick edits such as filters, trimming and stability issues with my film. Quite a few shots from planning the film were missing I'm hoping to refilm again before the deadline so I can get a final edit. Along with this, I will also be looking into what audio I can use for this film, such as music and sound effects.

 

Technical skills: I feel that with my knowledge of final cut pro x I was able to show my technicality by editing and scheduling my clips together along with changing direct features of my film for example muting the audio along with adding an overlay effect onto my clip I will then be attempting to make use of the color settings within the app so that I can change the color of an object within the film to make it appear red

 

Research skills: when it came to researching this lesson I felt that most of the things I was looking over were more on polishing my skills on final cut pro but also I did feel that with the color settings I've looked into so

 

23/09/22 nick finalizing edit and publishing film

Personal performance for this lesson: i feel that i was able to be very efficient with in this lesson this included editing my video uploading to wix and also using photo shot to create a small poster withing the film. What went well within the lesson i felt that with the edit i first found it difficult to find audio for the film but in the end i found a good non copyright song from there i altered the duration along with fading it in and out between segments in the film i also decided to add in effects such as a walkie talkie due to my character in the film having an ear piece i feel that these small effects pulled in some depth into the film. One thing looking back and analysing the film I noticed is that I could have slowed down the pacing of the film as I feel that it flowed too quickly and I felt that this film lacked suspense when I picked the music I chose to pick something that would hopefully add to this. One thing I feel that could have gone better was the lack of red within the film the original plan was to edit the objects within the film into red but due to time limitations and the lack of hardware to do it, I will go back and further edit the film to a higher standard. By using photoshop I created a small poster that would have originally been printed out but due to time limitations instead, it got put into the start of this film.
